Treatment of Scrap Tire for Rubber and Carbon Black Recovery

نویسندگان

چکیده

In this study, a chemical dissolution treatment was used to recover rubber and carbon black (CB) from truck tire scrap, with gas oil acting as the solvent 4-Hydroxy-TEMPO catalyst for reactions. Montmorillonite clay separate solution CB other non-dissolved additives. The recovered were characterized together original scrap sample by XRD, SEM, BET thermal analysis, well FTIR 1H NMR spectral analyses. Characterization of structure showed that main functional groups styrene?butadiene blend natural rubber. behavior crystalline rubber, its morphological images, properties acceptable similar characterizations after pyrolysis highly nanocomposite high specific surface area scattered pores.

Properties of concrete containing scrap-tire rubber--an overview.

Solid waste management is one of the major environmental concerns in the United States. Over 5 billion tons of non-hazardous solid waste materials are generated in USA each year. Of these, more than 270 million scrap-tires (approximately 3.6 million tons) are generated each year. In addition to this, about 300 million scrap-tires have been stockpiled. Several studies have been carried out to re...

Engineering Controlled Low Strength Materials Using Scrap Tire Rubber

An investigation was conducted to determine the influence of recycled scrap tire rubber on the engineering properties of controlled low strength material (CLSM). With control over the ultimate compressive strength of CLSMs being key for applications such as backfilling utility trenches where re-excavation is often necessary, incorporation of scrap tire rubber into the CLSM mixture is a viable w...

Producing Ground Scrap Tire Rubber: A Comparison Between Ambient and Cryogenic Technologies

In 1985, the scrap tire industry was created when Minnesota became the first state to develop specific legislation and regulations for scrap tires. Up to that time, many scrap tires, like most solid and household wastes, went into the l1)unicipal dump. Those tires not placed in the dump went into stock piles, some of which still exist today. Prior to 1985, few, ifany scrap tires were processed....
